Azerbaijan's donor activity was met with interest at the international humanitarian aid coordination conference in Ankara

A representative of our country took part in an international event titled "Support to the activities of the Central Asian Countries and Azerbaijan in the Multilateral Humanitarian Aid System" organized jointly by The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Nations, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), the Natural Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) and the Turkish Red Crescent Society in Ankara in 28-29 March 2019.

In his speech at the event, representative of the Azerbaijam International Development Agency (AIDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Etibar Kerimov mentioned the programs and projects implemented by our country's national donor institution - AIDA, including the experience of our country in the field of international humanitarian aid, and noted that the participating States could benefit from it.

Rashid Khalikov, UN Deputy Resident Representative on Humanitarian Assistance participated in the seminar and representatives of other leading international organizations welcomed Azerbaijan's work as a donor and expressed satisfaction with cooperation with our country.

We would like to note that the main purpose of the seminar is to accelerate the exchange of experience and exchange of views on the provision of international humanitarian assistance between the Turkic-speaking states and UN agencies, and to increase the cooperation opportunities.

The event was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey Farrukh Kairgubi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev, Head of UN Interim Permanent Committee Mervat Shelba, Central Asia countries, TICA, AFAD and by igh-level representatives of other national and international donor organizations.
