Large-Scale Forest Fires in Australia

Upon the instruction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 50.000 USD of humanitarian aid was provided to the Commonwealth of Australia in accordance with the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers for contributing to the elimination of severe consequences of large-scale bushfires raged in the end of 2019 and in the beginning of 2020. The humanitarian aid was donated to the Australian Red Cross by AIDA through the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society.

According to the reports of foreign mass media, as a result of forest fires that mainly raged in the south-east coasts of Australia, 25 people were killed along with hundreds of millions of animals, about 2000 houses were destroyed and area of more than 8 million hectares was burnt.
