Thousands of people died, 5.2 million people became refugees, 13.5 million are in need of humanitarian assistance since the outbreak of the conflict in March 2011 in Syria. More than the half of these people is children. Overwhelming majority of refugees resided in Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and other countries. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) continues to deliver the humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees together with other international organizations and development agencies since the onset of the conflict.
AIDA also contributes to supporting Syrian people that became refugees as a result of this conflict and have sought refuge in Jordan. The Agency assisted them through provision of humanitarian aid in the form of food and first need goods in 2015 and in the form of financial assistance in 2012.
