Advanced Foreign Service Program for Foreign Diplomats

Since 2018, in order to support human development in developing countries, AIDA organizes capacity-building course in Azerbaijan named “Advanced Foreign Service Program for Foreign Diplomats” for diplomats from a number of Asian and African countries within the framework of cooperation with the ADA University.

The main objective of the program, attended by young, mid-level and senior foreign diplomats, is to develop management and leadership skills.

The program consists of five different modules, covering topics such as international politics, law and organizations, economic and energy issues, public diplomacy, leadership development and Azerbaijani studies. Foreign diplomats participating in this program also get detailed information about our country, its history, policy, geography and culture.

Program participants are selected through an interview process, among the candidates submitted by the relevant countries.

Diplomats from Bangladesh, Djibouti, China, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Palestine, Kenya, Malaysia, Mongolia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Somalia, Togo and Vietnam participated in the first program organized on November 10-30, 2018.

Diplomats from Argentina, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Afghanistan, Palestine, Laos, Pakistan, Senegal, Serbia, Rwanda, Uruguay, Vietnam and Yemen participated in the second program organized on November 10-30, 2019.

Diplomats from Benin, Burkina Faso, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Madagascar, Mauritania, Egypt and Niger took part in the next online program which was organized online due to the COVID-19 pandemic on October 5-16, 2020.

On the 5-19th of June 2021 the fourth program was organized for the middle and high ranking diplomats and other civil servants from Afghanistan.
