Azerbaijan obtained an invitee status at the Development Assistance Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD/DAC)

The purposeful work carried out since 2015 by the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has resulted in Azerbaijan’s obtaining an invitee status at the Development Assistance Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which is considered one of the most influential and prestigious international structure in the field of global development assistance.

Participation in the work of OECD/DAC, which aims to improve the social welfare of people around the world and brings together the donor countries, is important for the Republic of Azerbaijan that has recently become a new member of the donor family. Engaging in the activities of this important structure will contribute to the strengthening of the donor image of Azerbaijan on international arena, as well as will improve the efficiency of donor programs of the country and result in development of new partnerships.

Founded in 1961 and comprised of 36 member states, OECD is a platform for a joint effort of governments to discuss the ways to overcome the existing problems around the world and to share their policy experiences. Along with the OECD member states, the Development Assistance Committee also comprises the non-member donor countries active in development cooperation. Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, India, Latvia, Lithuania, Peru, Romania, Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and South Africa also hold the invitee status at the OECD Development Assistance Committee.
