Assistance to Burundi refugees
In 2019, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) submitted a “Regional Assistance Plan for 2019-2020” to the member states in order to provide assistance for the implementation of the intended activities.
In response to the appeal, the Republic of Azerbaijan allocated 30,000 US dollars to help refugees suffering from the crisis in Burundi.
The funds are aimed at meeting the urgent humanitarian needs of Burundian refugees settled in Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Uganda, promoting their return to their countries and supporting their reintegration into society.
